The Welgeluk Feather Palace in Oudtshoorn was built in 1910 from sandstone in the Edwardian style. It is considered a remnant of the ostrich feather boom that brought great prosperity to Oudtshoorn at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries.
